Woman airlifted after tree crash

A woman has been airlifted to hospital after the vehicle she was travelling in crashed into a tree in Lincolnshire.

The car, a white Mercedes C250 Sport, left the B1183 Main Road in Scrivelsby, near Horncastle, at about 1525 BST.

The woman, believed to be from the Spilsby area, suffered head injuries and had to be cut free from her car.

She was taken to Lincoln County Hospital. Police said the road would remain closed for several hours to allow for investigation of the scene.

Police have appealed for any witnesses to contact them.
