Crackdown on nuisance behaviour

A crackdown against anti-social behaviour among young people and criminal damage is getting under way in part of Lincolnshire.

Neighbourhood teams in Gainsborough have set up several activities as part of Operation Tosca to distract youngsters who might be a nuisance.

Officers are targeting well-known hot spots where youths congregate and cause trouble.

Various sporting activities and community projects have been planned.

Sgt Sue Dooley, of Lincolnshire Police, said: "We will, however, deal robustly with anyone who participates in anti-social behaviour or criminal activities.

"Whilst we don't want to spoil anyone's fun, and hope everyone enjoys their summer holidays, we would ask people to be considerate to those around you."
