Cyclist, 18, punched and robbed

An 18-year-old cyclist was punched in the face and robbed in a Lincoln street, police have said.

The man was in Rookery Lane when he was approached by a group of up to six young men.

Officers said he was grabbed by one man and hit before the group took his bicycle and headed off towards an area known locally as the 'Backies'.

The cyclist suffered swelling to his face. Police have appealed for witnesses to come forward.

The man who hit him is described as over 6ft (1.83m) tall and of thin build. He was wearing a black hooded jacket.

The bike has now been recovered.
