Police say a large-scale operation involving 29 roadside checkpoints across Lincolnshire has been a success. More than 1,000 vehicles were stopped as part of a day of action by officers using automatic number plate recognition cameras. A number of offences were dealt with, including three arrests for theft. Five vehicles were seized. Deputy Chief Constable Neil Rhodes said it targeted travelling criminals and those committing traffic offences. "We've had some really pleasing results and have, along with our partner agencies, carried out some excellent work, cracking down on travelling criminals and people who commit offences on our roads," he said.
