Cab driver threatened with hammer

A 27-year-old taxi driver was threatened with a hammer and robbed in a Lincolnshire town.

Police said the driver picked up a man in his 20s outside Boston College on Skirbeck Road at about 1230 BST on Saturday.

Five minutes into the journey, the passenger threatened the driver with a hammer and stole a quantity of cash from him.

The offender then ran off towards a housing estate off Fishtoft Road.

He has been described as dark skinned and about 5ft 10in (1.77m) tall and was wearing a black jacket, blue jeans and black trainers.

Police have urged anyone who saw him to contact them.
