River body identified by police

A man whose body was found in the River Witham in Lincolnshire has been identified by police.

Officers were called to an area close to the rowing club in Boston after a member of the public spotted an object in the water on Monday.

The man has now been named as Olegs Bartkevics, 40, a Latvian national of no fixed address.

Lincolnshire Police said a post-mortem examination, which was carried out on Tuesday, was inconclusive.

An inquest into his death was opened and adjourned on Thursday.
