Three arrested after man attacked

A 28-year-old man is in a serious condition in hospital after he was assaulted in a Lincolnshire town.

Police said the man was found unconscious in Water Street, Stamford, at 1935 BST on Saturday.

The victim, from Peterborough, was taken to the town's District Hospital and later transferred to Addenbrookes Hospital in Cambridge.

Three men aged 18, 19 and 20 have been arrested in connection with the incident.

Lincolnshire Police have appealed for witnesses to contact them.
