A teacher at a school in Lincolnshire has been diagnosed with swine flu. But parents are being told pupils should attend the Ellison Boulters Church of England Primary School in Scothern near Lincoln as normal. Youngsters were sent home with a letter giving them basic information about the illness and hygiene advice. The school said staff were being advised by the county council and, at this stage, would carry on as normal unless staffing levels became critical. Dr Maureen Baker, the lead adviser on pandemics for the Royal College of General Practitioners, stressed it was unnecessary to close the school. She said: "I believe that the local health authorities are keeping a close eye on the situation and if they feel that needs to change then obviously parents will be informed."
