Pedestrian dies in lorry accident

A pedestrian has died after being hit by a lorry on the A46 in Lincolnshire.

The victim, who has not yet been identified but is believed to be from the Grimsby area, was hit by a Iveco tipper on Friday morning.

The road in Holton-le-Moor, near Caistor, was closed for more than six hours to allow a police investigators to examine the scene.

Police said the driver of the lorry, which had come from Rotherham, and his passenger were not injured.
