Man was stabbed in neck at home

Police in Lincolnshire say a man who was stabbed in the neck was at home when the attack happened, not out walking his dog as previously thought.

Officers were called to a house on Coleridge Gardens in Lincoln in the early hours of Monday where they found a 43-year-old man with a neck wound.

A 42-year-old man was arrested and later released on bail.

Police said they hoped the latest information would help reassure residents about safety in the area.

In a statement, a police spokesperson said: "Inquiries have indicated that the above incident, in which a man received a stab wound to his neck, did not occur in the park area as previously reported, but within the victim's home address.

"Officers hope that this development will offer some reassurance to residents who may have mistakenly believed that this was a random attack in a public place."

On Wednesday, Insp Shaun West said: "Statistically, the level of crime for the Glebe ward is average and this should offer some reassurance to the community but more importantly they should know that we are working in the area with them and for them."
