Motorcyclist dies after accident

A motorcyclist has died in hospital following an accident on the Lincoln by-pass at Wragby Road in the early hours of Monday morning.

Gary Yarnell, 21, of Louth Road, Wragby, died at Lincoln County Hospital on Wednesday from serious injuries.

The number of people killed in accidents on Lincolnshire roads in the last five days has risen to 10.

So far in 2008 the number of road accident deaths in the county reached 49, compared to 79 deaths in 2007.

In a separate accident, a 68-year-old man from Bourne died after becoming ill at the wheel of his car, which collided with another vehicle.

The crash happened on Wednesday on the A15 at Morton.

James Newell from Lincolnshire Police said the other driver was not seriously injured.
