Two men killed in car collision

Two men were killed and a woman was seriously injured in a car crash in Lincolnshire on Saturday night.

Two cars, a Ford Fiesta and a Peugeot 406 estate, were in a collision in the village of Greetwell at about 2230 GMT.

Anthony Coyle, 53, from Cherry Willingham, and Malcom Elsey, 45, from Goltho, both passengers in the Fiesta, died in hospital.

A 49-year-old woman who was driving the Fiesta, suffered neck and back injuries.

Investigation continues

A police spokesman said: "The back seat passenger was pronounced dead shortly after arrival at Lincoln County Hospital.

"The front seat passenger had to be cut from the vehicle and was transferred to Lincoln County Hospital with serious head and lung injuries from which, tragically, he has subsequently passed away".

The driver of the Peugeot was unhurt, he said.

Investigations into the cause of the accident are still ongoing.
