Post office raids prompt warning

People living in rural communities in Lincolnshire have been asked to be vigilant after a series of post office robberies across the county.

In the last four weeks there have been four robberies, with post offices in rural areas targeted.

Lincolnshire Police said violence has been used and the possible gang responsible may have carried out raids in other counties.

Villagers have been asked to keep a eye out for suspicious activity.

Insp Mark Housley said: "If you see anyone sat in a vehicle near your post office then call us. If you see vehicles that seem to be passing the post office regularly, again call us.

"Even if you just see strangers to the village, either inside the premises or seemingly hanging around - get in touch.

"The tiniest detail could be the final piece in the jigsaw we need to make an arrest."
