Police warning over diesel thefts

Police in Lincolnshire are warning people to tighten security around diesel vehicles parked in rural area, after a series of fuel thefts.

On Wednesday, £400 worth of diesel was taken from three cement mixers in a yard in Croft and in Spilsby 400 litres was taken from a yard on Vale Road.

On Thursday night diesel was stolen from vehicles in two yards in Sutterton and Frieston.

Officers urged anyone with information about the thefts to contact them.

Insp Terry Ball said: "We would urge people living close to rural yards where vehicles are stored to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity to police immediately.

"We're particularly interested in the details of vehicles seen in suspicious circumstances at rural sites and would urge community members to write down vehicle details."
