Youth arrested over sheep deaths

A 16-year-old boy has been arrested in connection with an incident in which 15 sheep drowned in Lincolnshire.

The animals were found dead in Bardney Road in Washingborough on 5 October.

A Lincolnshire Police spokesperson said a teenager from Heighington had been arrested on suspicion of criminal damage on Thursday morning.

At the time of the incident, police said they thought the sheep may have been frightened into the River Witham by off-road bikers.

An investigation with the RSPCA began and officers warned motorists to take care when passing livestock.
