Breast cancer information point

An information point has been set up in a Lincolnshire hospital offering stress-free advice on breast cancer.

The display stand is outside Grantham and District Hospital's outpatients' department and also has information leaflets women can take with them.

It was set up to help women who felt embarrassed and sensitive about asking intimate questions.

The initiative, created by breast cancer specialist nurse Nicky Turner, is part of Breast Awareness Month.

"I wanted to offer patients and relatives the chance to access important information in a less threatening way," said Mrs Turner.

People wanting more information about breast awareness can also get information from Grantham's Macmillan Cancer Information and Support Centre and the town's Breast Cancer Support Group, which meets monthly.

There is also a dedicated helpline for patients to access support and information from Monday to Friday, available on (01476) 593945.
