William Pleasants
William Pleasants was described as a very social character

The family of a 23-year-old man who died after being thrown out of a Lincolnshire nightclub said they would "miss him more than anything".

William Pleasants from Cambridgeshire stopped breathing outside The Engine Shed when he was ejected following an altercation early on Saturday.

He died in hospital on Tuesday and a post-mortem examination has yet to be carried out.

Six people were arrested on suspicion of assault and later released on bail.

A family statement released by police said the loves of William's life were his family, girlfriend and his friends.

It said he was a keen motorcyclist who was also interested in art, sculpture, fishing and was "a very social character who loved music and dancing".

Couple sought

Police have appealed for witnesses to the altercation inside the club and an incident outside the club in which Mr Pleasants was restrained by door staff.

Officers want to trace a man believed to be involved in the altercation inside who is described as 6ft (1.83m), approximately 20 years old and of large build.

He is described as wearing a short-sleeved, dark-coloured top and had gelled spiky short hair.

Police would also like to speak to a woman who is believed to have been involved in the altercation.

The woman is approximately 5ft 6in (1.67m), medium build with collar-length hair.

Mr Pleasants was in Lincoln visiting his sister and girlfriend who are students at the city's university.
