Two men refused bail over attack

Mr Swallow had to have metal plates inserted into his head.

Two men charged in connection with an assault on a 43-year-old man which left him with a broken skull have been refused bail.

Stephen Swallow was in St Benedict's Square in Lincoln late on 28 June when he was beaten with a plank of wood.

The Lincoln man had metal plates inserted in his head after the attack.

A 17-year-old man who cannot be named for legal reasons and Darren Wheeler, 19, from Lincoln, were remanded until 24 October at Lincoln Crown Court.
