Poor response to resort idea plea

Skegness
The council says it is disappointed at the lack of response

People living in a Lincolnshire coastal resort have been urged to submit their views on how they would like to see the town developed.

About 21,000 households in Skegness were sent questionnaires asking what they want to see in the town centre, particularly on the southern foreshore.

But so far only 1,000 "Skegness Voice" questionnaires have been returned.

East Lindsey District Council said the results of the survey would influence any future redevelopment.

Gary Sargeant from East Lindsey District Council said he wanted all residents to have their say.

"The future for Skegness is very exciting and there is a great opportunity for new investment in the town that will enhance the attractions and facilities we already have to offer.

"The questionnaires we receive will give us invaluable feedback in terms of what people who use Skegness want to see in their town for the future."
