Ranger to tackle dog mess owners

Dog owners in a part of Lincolnshire have been warned they risk being fined if they fail to clean up after their animals foul the street.

An enforcement ranger for South Kesteven District Council will be on patrol to ensure owners scoop up mess.

The council said it had to take this course of action because of an increase in the number of incidents.

Owners who do not clean up after their animals face an on-the-spot fixed penalty fine of £75.

Matthew Wilson, enforcement ranger for the council said: "A failure to clear up after dogs is totally unacceptable.

"Dog owners need to take responsibility for clearing up any mess. Our advice is simple, bag it and bin it or risk being fined."
