Police crack down on quarry bikes

Mini-moto riders in Lincoln are being warned they could have their bikes seized if they ride them "in an anti-social manner", police say.

In the past few months, police have received a number of complaints about bikers using a quarry near Carlton Boulevard Estate in Lincoln.

Officers said the majority of complaints were about the noise of the bikes and mini-motos in the area.

Anyone who sees bikes in the quarry should contact police.

Police community support officer Catherine Bannister said that seizing vehicles was a last resort.

"We would much prefer it if people could heed this warning so we don't have to take further action but following the number of complaints, we need to do all we can to get the issue addressed," she said.
