Traffic lights to be pulled down

A controversial set of traffic lights in a Lincolnshire town are to be removed, the council has confirmed.

The lights, on a pedestrian crossing in Sleaford's market place, were installed earlier this year.

Lincolnshire County Council made the decision after monitoring traffic flows with and without the traffic signals.

The temporary pedestrian railings will now be replaced by permanent ones at the junction of Northgate, Southgate and Market Place.

The council said the work would start during the week of 28 July.
