Victim of fatal stabbing is named

A man who died after being stabbed in a Lincolnshire town has been formally identified by police.

John Sinnott, who was 42 and lived in Tennyson Street in Gainsborough, was found seriously wounded in the early hours of Thursday.

He was taken to Scunthorpe hospital but died shortly afterwards.

Searches are still being carried out in the area and a 37-year-old local man and a 51-year-old local woman who were arrested remain in police custody.
