Police crack down on bike crime

Police in a Lincolnshire town are cracking down on bicycle crime following a spate of thefts.

Officers said 36 bicycles had been stolen in the Boston area over the past seven weeks.

They have urged cyclists to get their bicycle electronically registered at a special tagging day in the Market Place on Saturday 5 July.

Pc Andy Heath said tagging made it easier to catch thieves and return the bikes to their rightful owners.

Residents will also be given security advice at the event.
