A man charged with murdering a Lincolnshire woman has admitted at Lincoln Crown Court that he killed her.

Marc Middlebrook, 26, of Larkspur Croft, Boston, denied murdering 32-year-old Stephanie Barton, but pleaded guilty to manslaughter.

Ms Barton, from Brothertoft Road, Boston, was found with multiple stab wounds in a house in Larkspur Croft on 4 December 2007.

The case was adjourned and Mr Middlebrook was remanded in custody.

The prosecution, which has yet to accept or reject the plea, asked for further psychiatric reports.

Judge Michael Heath, at Lincoln Crown Court, remanded Mr Middlebrook back into custody until a hearing on 14 July.
