Two are killed on county's roads

Two people have been killed in accidents on Lincolnshire's roads bringing the county's death toll so far this year to 15.

A motorist told police he had hit a pedestrian at Whip Chicken Road in Crowland at about 2330 BST on Tuesday.

Officers found a man's body in a nearby ditch. He has been named by police as Karl Andrew Malton, 32, from Crowland.

In a separate incident, a 47-year-old man died when his car hit a tree at Heckington just before 1900 BST.

A total of 28 people were killed on the county's roads during the same period last year.

There were a total of 79 fatalities for the year in 2007.
