Police will be patrolling the roads closely

Thousands of motorbike riders heading for a rally on the Lincolnshire coast this weekend are being warned to slow down for their own safety.

Lincolnshire Police have already started Operation Stealth to crack down on speeding motorists.

A police spokesman said they will use mobile speed cameras to ensure roads are not used "like a race track" ahead of the event at Butlins in Skegness.

A total of 21 motorbike riders died on the county's roads last year.

Brian Burns from the Lincolnshire Road Safety Partnership said: "Police will be out in force in higher numbers than usual to ensure roads are safe."

The biker rally at the holiday camp is sponsored by a biking magazine and is expected to attract about 5,000 people.
