Youngsters help clean up graffiti
A project run by Lincolnshire Police and its youth offending team is getting under way in a bid to spruce up part of the county.

The fence at the Memorial Park in Alford has been covered in graffiti and young people in the area have been asked to help re-paint it.

By involving young people, police hope to help them understand how anti-social behaviour can effect the community.

The painting project will continue over the next eight Saturdays.

Police community support officer Dee Phillips said: "Anti-social behaviour and graffiti is a great cause for concern for many members of our community.

"It's important for those who engage in it to understand just what effect it can have on people's lives.

"We don't want the few youths who engage in anti-social behaviour to effect the perception about young people within the local community."
