Appeal for views on bypass routes
Three options for Lincoln's long-awaited eastern bypass are to go on show to gauge public opinion.

The county council said development demands, including new housing, meant the route had been reassessed.

All options run from the existing A46 bypass at the A158 Wragby Road roundabout down to the A15 Sleaford Road south of Bracebridge Heath.

Five events, between 19-24 February, will put the plans on display and allow the public to give feedback.

Government doubts

Councillor William Webb, Executive Councillor for Highways, said: "Pubic views are important and opinions will be carefully collated and seriously considered.

"The Lincoln Eastern Bypass is, I believe, vital to the City's aspiration to become an important regional centre."

Events will be held at Washingborough Hall, Branston Hall, Millennium Hall in Cherry Willingham, Waterside Shopping Centre in Lincoln and Canwick Village Hall.

The need for a bypass was questioned by government inspectors last year who queried whether other options had been explored.
