Brigade promotes fire advice line
Fire officials are continuing their campaign to reduce the number of fires started by children in Lincolnshire.

More than 160 fires in the county were started by children last year.

Fire officials are asking parents to call a confidential phone line for advice if they are concerned about youngsters playing with fire.

The fire service said in one incident a woman was rescued from her home in Lincoln after her son set fire to their lounge playing with cigarette lighters.

The brigade's FACE scheme, Fire Awareness Child Education, is targeting about 100 primary schools in the county with fire prevention information.

Last year the fire service's confidential hotline for parents received more than 150 calls, John Whaler from Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue said.
