City's Christmas wheel scrapped
Plans for a big wheel which would have been a major Christmas attraction in Lincoln have been scrapped.

The city's Business Improvement Group had hoped the big wheel would have been in place by next week in time for the festive shopping period.

But the group has revealed that the wheel it was hoping to secure will not be ready.

A search for a replacement is under way although a spokesman for Lincoln BIG said it might prove fruitless.

The wheel was supposed to replace an ice rink which was not brought back because of rising costs.

The Business Improvement Group is an independent organisation made up of local authorities, traders and stakeholders.
