Teacher jailed for abusing boys
A Lincolnshire man who sexually assaulted two boys has been jailed for six years.

Richard Taylor, 47, a teacher from Lady Margaret's Avenue in Market Deeping, carried out the abuse more than 15 years ago.

Taylor had denied two counts of actual bodily harm, incitement to commit gross indecency and indecent assault between 1980 and 1982.

Judge John Machin said Taylor had ruined a distinguished teaching career.

Holiday incident

Taylor worked as a science teacher for 25 years at the Bretton Woods School in Peterborough.

The judge said while Taylor had been abused himself, he could have chosen a different path.

He added that he had carried out a "wicked and very damaging course of abuse".

Taylor was placed on the Sex Offenders Register for life.

Lincoln Crown Court heard how his victims had contacted the NSPCC after hearing he had been accused of spying on children in a shower at a campsite while on holiday.

His defence told the jury Taylor had been abused by a scoutmaster and had now lost his wife, family, job, home and reputation.
