Passengers to join the love train
Passengers on a Lincolnshire train could be on the right track to find love with a new speed dating service.

The project will be trialled on the Poacher Line between Grantham and Skegness on 27 September.

Female participants will sit at window seats and men will move around aisle seats during the journey.

Those taking part will have to pay an additional admission fee but general passengers will still be able to travel on the service.

'Eye contact'

Live music nights are already running on the route.

Passengers were surveyed on what other entertainment they would like to see on the train and speed dating topped the list.

The organiser of the event, who wanted to be known as Neblina, said: "It isn't exclusively for singles but obviously singles will have a fantastic evening.

"A lot of people are lonely... but people sit on public transport the same route everyday and they notice somebody.

"Sometimes there is eye contact and that eye contact might be that few seconds longer than you'd normally have and you know there is interest but how on earth do you take it further?"

Those taking part in the speed dating can also go on to a specially organised party when the train stops at Wainfleet.
