The cause of the fire is still unknown
A carnival procession has taken place to mark the reopening of a Lincolnshire seafront ravaged by a fire.

A number of Skegness' bars and shops, as well as an empty hotel, were destroyed in the blaze on 16 August.

A 200 metre stretch of Grand Parade was closed off and businesses said the blow came after a summer of bad weather.

Officials said the procession - lead by a fire engine crew that helped tackle the flames - would underline the fact the town was open for business.

'Perform best'

Jugglers and dancers moved past the area where diggers are still working to clear tangled wreckage left over form the fire.

A plane was also used to pull a banner which said 'Grand Parade is open' overhead.

Councillor Dick Edgington, deputy leader of East Lindsey District Council, said: "It has almost been like a war time spirit, a determination to make good.

"We always perform best under adversity."
