The learners will have to travel to Boston for tests
Driving instructors in one Lincolnshire town are upset at delays in opening a new test centre.

A Driving Standards Agency spokesman said the Skegness centre had closed but its replacement in a nearby business park will not be ready until early May.

Learner drivers will need to travel to Boston for tests but instructors say that is costly and inconvenient.

Ray Colby of the Driving Standards Agency said the delay was unavoidable as the old site was being redeveloped.

"We would have liked to have a seamless takeover," he said.

Furniture and carpets are being fitted in the new location in Skegness.

Driving instructor Tony Russell said: "They have known it was closing for some time, it would have been nice to move straight from one building to the other.

"The DSA are just dragging their feet. Students are worried - they don't want the expense of going somewhere else."
