Murder inquiry after fire death
scene of fire at St Leonard's Close
Neighbours tried to rescue the pensioner from the fire
A murder inquiry is under way after a man died in a suspicious fire at his home in Boston.

Lincolnshire Police said the 74-year-old man, who has not yet been identified, died from smoke inhalation after the fire early on Monday morning.

Police and fire officials are still trying to determine the cause of the fire, but said it appears to have been started deliberately.

Neighbours tried to rescue the man but were beaten back by the flames.

Police are asking anyone who was near or around St Leonard's Close between midnight and 0430 GMT on Monday to contact them.
