Man re-arrested over river body

Detectives in Lincolnshire have been granted an extra 30 hours to question a man over the murder of a woman whose body was found in a river.

A 37-year-old man from Peterborough was re-arrested on Tuesday and magistrates have granted police extra time.

The body of 52-year-old Anita Anderson, from Kirton was found in the River Welland near Crowland in December.

Her husband, 54-year-old Malcom Anderson, also from Kirton has been charged with her murder.

Mr Anderson is due back in court on 16 February.

The 37-year-old man currently being questioned was originally arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender in December.
