Captain Splosh aims to get pupils to drink more water
Every primary school child in Lincolnshire should be able to access free drinking water whilst in class in a new scheme run by a water company.

Anglian Water is installing mains-fed water coolers in all primary school sites in the county.

The project features a character called Captain Splosh who will encourage pupils to drink more water.

Spokeswoman Colette Nicholls said well-hydrated youngsters performed better in their school work.

"We've come up with an idea for these mains-fed water coolers, she said.

"Children can take water from them to keep them hydrated so that they can concentrate better in classrooms and achieve more in class," she said.

A spokeswoman for Lincolnshire County Council said it was an excellent initiative that would encourage more pupils to drink more water.
