Bosses to ask public about cuts
The Trust which runs Lincolnshire's hospitals has insisted no decisions have been made about cuts to services.

It comes after thousands of people held a protest against planned changes to emergency and maternity services at Grantham Hospital.

United Lincolnshire Hospitals NHS Trust is trying to tackle a £15m overspend. A cost-cutting plan may mean hundreds of job losses.

The Trust says the public will be consulted about its recommendations.

I can well understand why people are concerned
David Bowles, NHS Trust chairman

Demonstrators gathered in Grantham's Wyndham Park on Saturday to voice their opposition to the proposed changes.

Commenting on the reviews of acute services in Lincolnshire, Trust chairman David Bowles said: "I want to reassure everybody that no final decisions have yet been taken.

"I can well understand why people are concerned. We'll come forward with some recommendations.

"When those recommendations are available, obviously that will be the point of intense public consultation."
