Warning over using 'unsafe' road
Police have said motorists in a Lincolnshire town are risking more than just a fine if they use a road closed because of a dangerous building.

Skirbeck Road, Boston, was shut to prevent access to flats on Mount Bridge which were hit by car last Saturday.

The building is thought to be in danger of collapse and as the road is officially closed drivers are not insured to drive on it.

Officers said there would be more patrols to enforce the order.

Pc Tim Booth, from Boston Police Station, said: "Patrols have already handed out some penalty notices who have failed to comply with the signs.

"We accept it is an inconvenience but it's closed to ambulances, police and the fire service, so if its too dangerous for them, it's too dangerous for members of the public."
