Crash road safety work approved
New safety measures will be introduced on a stretch of road in Lincolnshire where five people were killed.

County councillors voted to bring in a 20 mile-an-hour speed limit, speed humps and barriers on part of Sea Lane in Ingoldmells.

Two years ago a bus hit a group of pedestrians killing a young couple and a mother and her two young boys on Easter Sunday.

A trial pedestrianisation was lifted after public consultation.

Trade affected

Some local people and businesses have welcomed the new plans, they had said the traffic ban affected trade and caused problems.

But some victims' relatives have indicated they would continue campaigning for permanent pedestrianisation.

Bus driver Stephen Topasna, 51, of Bridge Street, Louth, was jailed for five years for causing death by dangerous driving after the accident.

He is appealing against his conviction.
