Festival site to host youth event
A soap actress is helping out at a youth festival in Lincolnshire.

Shobna Gulati, Coronation Street's Sunita Alahan, will take part in the Diverse festival, the first of its kind in East Lindsey.

It aims to fuse the sounds and moves of East and West with music and dance workshops and performances, including a Battle of the Bands event.

It will be held at the Wolds Collective festival site at Badger Farm, Asterby, near Louth, on 30 July.

The event is only open to those aged 13 to 19, and there will be free coach travel from Skegness, Spilsby, Horncastle, Mablethorpe, Alford and Louth.

Arts Development Officer Nicki Gardner said: "This is going to be a fantastic day, timed just right for the start of the summer holidays, and we are keen to get local bands to sign up to take part."

Susi Mulligan, veteran festival organiser and leader of Wolds Collective said: "I am thrilled to be able to offer our facilities for such a worthwhile cause."
