Three people die in lorry crash
Scene of accident
The car was crushed between two lorries
Three people have died after the car they were in was crushed between two lorries and caught fire.

The crash happened on the A17 Newark Road near RAF Cranwell just before 1100 GMT on Thursday. The vehicles were all travelling in the same direction.

All three victims were declared dead at the scene, five miles west of Sleaford. The two lorry drivers were not injured.

Heavy machinery was used to prize the lorries apart. The A17 was closed in both directions but has now reopened.

Police want to speak to anyone who may have seen the crash, to help them establish what happened.

Insp Tony Mendham of Lincolnshire Police said: "It was quite traumatic for all the emergency services that were involved, particularly with the fatalities that were involved with the vehicle and for the fire service having to try and recover the bodies from the vehicle."
