Police identify river death woman
A woman who died after a car plunged into the River Welland near Crowland in Lincolnshire on Friday has been named.

Jane Aveling, 54, who lived on Bridge Street in Deeping St James, was helped to the riverbank by emergency services but was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police said they believe that the car left the B1166 Kemp Road and ended up in the river.

The road between Deeping St James and the Crowland Water Tower was shut for several hours after the accident.
