Police seize car from boy racer
Police have seized the car of a "boy racer" in Lincolnshire after he was warned twice about his poor driving.

The 20-year-old man from Horncastle was spotted by police speeding his red Vauxhall Astra around the villages of Coningsby and Woodhall Spa on Tuesday.

Officers seized his car using powers in the new Police Reform Act aimed at deterring anti-social behaviour.

Police said it is the first time in East Lincolnshire that a car has been seized under this legislation.

The new law is being used to stop "boy racers" who use car parks and other public areas to race vehicles.

The man, who has not been named, must pay a fee of £105 and a further charge of £12 per day for each day it remains in police hands.

If it is not collected within 28 days, the car will either be sold or destroyed.
