Sea search after plane jump claim

A sea search was launched after reports of a person jumping from a plane in distress off the coast of Skegness.

Lincolnshire Police said it received several calls at about 1600 BST on Thursday of an aircraft in trouble.

Two children also reported that they heard a loud bang whilst on a funfair ride at Skegness, then saw a person falling from a grey and white plane.

Yarmouth Coastguard co-ordinated the search, but found no evidence of a ditched aircraft or person.
