College reveals new bypass line
Proposed changes by a major landowner to the route of Lincoln's Eastern Bypass will be outlined at a public meeting on Wednesday evening.

Jesus College Oxford, which owns 1,000 acres between Canwick and Bracebridge Heath, wants the current plans redrawn.

The college believes its route, to the east of the planned road, would bring greater benefits to Lincoln.

The meeting on the proposals will start at Bracebridge Heath's Community Hall from 7.30pm.

Lincolnshire County Council and North Kesteven District Council say it would be inappropriate for them to comment, because the bypass is the subject of a public inquiry.

There is a planning application for a preferred route, which would be challenged at a public inquiry if there are objections or rival schemes formally put forward.
