Pressure for air ambulance funds

The government is expected to come under more pressure to make funds available to Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire's Air Ambulance.

The service is continuing to rely on donations raised by charity - 10 years after it started.

Members of the Women's Institute in Lincolnshire now plan to pressurise Westminster and will debate the issue at their next conference.

The "ambucopter's" running costs are more than £1m a year.

In 2003 it carried out nearly 1,000 missions.
