Major part of poultry firm sold
Staff at a chicken processing firm have been told a majority of the business is being sold to an American company.

The family firm Padley's, which has sites in Grantham and Anwick, produces chicken for leading supermarkets.

All parts of the business will be sold apart from some of the breeder and broiler farms.

Regulations are in place to ensure workers keep their jobs and that changes to their terms and conditions are limited.

A letter sent to staff says a strategic review of the international market and increased competition has led to the sale of a large chunk of the business to the International Food Group OSI, based in America.

Consultation with staff will now get under way to discuss the impact of the change.
