The man chosen to direct the next Harry Potter film will be in Lincoln to open the university's new media incubator centre.
British film-maker Mike Newell, best-known for directing Four Weddings and a Funeral, will preside over the official opening of "Sparkhouse Studios".
The £630,000 centre was set up last year to encourage the university's graduates to set up creative small businesses in the heart of the city.
It is designed to support start-up businesses through their first 18 months with advice, subsidised rents and access to specialised IT and media equipment.
The official opening will take place at 1630 GMT on Tuesday, 16 December.
Mr Newell will then be interviewed in the main lecture theatre in the Lincoln School of Architecture building.
He has been hired to direct the next Harry Potter film, The Goblet of Fire.
He will be the first Brit to direct a film in the popular franchise.
